Procrete was chosen to install top-quality imprinted concrete for the Luas tram stop on O’Connell Street. Dublin’s Luas system has two main lines – the Green Line and the Red Line – both in operation since 2004. Our work centred around upgrading the O’Connell Street stop, a vital part of the Green Line.
We began with a comprehensive site assessment to understand the specific concrete paving needs and challenges. The project’s complexity demanded precise planning and execution of our concrete pouring and finishing techniques.
Partnering with Ireland’s leading construction and utilities companies John Sisk & Son and GMC, we coordinated every aspect of the concrete installation efficiently. Our collaboration ensured seamless integration of the concrete work with other construction elements.
Selecting the right concrete mix was crucial for ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. We chose eco-friendly aggregates and cement to reduce the project’s environmental impact. The concrete was then stamped and textured to provide a visually appealing, slip-resistant surface.
We employed advanced concrete curing techniques to guarantee the highest quality finish. Throughout the project, we worked closely with Sisk and GMC Civil Engineering, ensuring all concrete paving standards and deadlines were met. After the primary concrete pour and finishing, we conducted rigorous quality checks. We tested the concrete’s strength, examined the surface for any imperfections, and ensured proper drainage.
The completed project delivered a durable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing concrete platform for the Luas tram line. This project showcases our expertise in handling complex commercial concrete paving tasks, delivering results that meet high standards of quality and safety.
